Kengo Kuma × Rie Qudan Talk Show & Special Lunch provided by GINZA KYUBEY and nôl

Summary

You could watch a gorgeous talk show between world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, who was involved in the design of Japan National Stadium, and novelist Rie Qudan, who won the Ryunosuke Akutagawa Award in 2024. In the VIP lounge of the National Stadium, guests will be able to enjoy sushi from GINZA KYUBEY, one of the most famous sushi restaurants in Japan, and a French buffet from nôl, a restaurant that has been awarded a star in the Michelin Guide Tokyo for three consecutive years since 2022 (for contemporary cuisine) and was named the Michelin Green Star for the first time in 2024. In addition to enjoying a French buffet, guests will have the rare opportunity to see the VIP area of the National Stadium, which is normally inaccessible.

・Kengo Kuma
Born in 1954, Kengo Kuma established Kengo Kuma & Associates in 1990. Currently a special professor and professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, he has projects underway in over 50 countries. He proposes architecture that opens up new relationships between nature, technology, and mankind. His major publications include “Kengo Kuma, Onomatopoeia, Architecture, Groundedness” (X-Knowledge), “Architecture in Japan” (Iwanami Shinsho), “All Work” (Daiwa Shobo), “Point, Line, Surface” (Iwanami Shoten), “Losing Architecture” (Iwanami Shoten), “Natural Architecture” and “Small Architecture” (Iwanami Shinsho), and many more.
・Rie Qudan
Born in 1990. Born in Saitama Prefecture, She made her debut in 2021 with “Bad Music,” which won the 126th Bungakukai New Writer Award. In March 2023, she won the 73rd Art Encouragement Prize for New Writers; in November, she won the 45th Noma Literary New Writers Award for “Shiwokakuuma”; and in January 2024, she won the 170th Akutagawa Ryunosuke Award for “Tokyo-to Dojo-to”.
・GINZA KYUBEY (will be in charge of Sushi)
Founded in 1935 by Hisaharu Imada, this high-end sushi restaurant is known as one of the “Ginza Gosanke” (three families) along with Yoshino and Nakata, and is one of Japan's leading long-established sushi restaurants, known for offering a new style of Edomae sushi such as the invention of gunkan maki (a type of sushi roll).
・Takashi Tanno (will be in charge of French buffet)
Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1988, Tanno learned the basics of French cuisine from Yoshiaki Ishii at “La Rochelle Minami Aoyama”. After his training, he went to France to study at “Restaurant KEI”. After returning to Japan, he studied French cuisine that makes the most of the ingredients at “ESqUISSE” in Ginza, “abysse” in Gaienmae (now Daikanyama), and “L'Effervescence”, a three-star restaurant in the Michelin Guide Tokyo 2024. In April 2021, he became the chef of “Restaurant Takashi Tanno”. In April 2024, he became the chef of “nôl”.
